OPERATIONS MANAGER
Lead the Growth and Development of Hockey in the Region!
Hockey Wanganui is passionate about fostering the growth and development of hockey in our community. We aim to: provide a pathway for our junior players, coaches, umpires and volunteers; Increase the opportunities for our senior players with competitions and rep programmes.
Our organization is run by dedicated volunteers and we now seeking a part-time Operations Manager (with potential to be full time) to provide professional leadership and take Hockey Whanganui to new heights.
About the role:
The Operations Manager will play a pivotal role in the administration, coordination, and strategic direction of Hockey Wanganui. You will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the organisation, implementing our vision, and building strong relationships with stakeholders to ensure the continued success of hockey in the region.
Key Responsibilities:
● Communication and information distribution;
● General administrative duties and managing database, draws and running of competitions;
● Identify funding opportunities and manage sponsorship relationships;
● Build and maintain relationships with players, coaches, volunteers, umpires, sponsors and regional and national bodies;
● Update website and social media pages;
● Facilities management.
The successful applicant will demonstrate:
● Strong communication skills, written and oral;
● Good computer skills, knowledge of Microsoft Office and an aptitude for learning new programmes;
● Good planning, organising and task prioritisation skills while ensuring everyone is kept up to date;
● Good attention to detail.
